A ranked shortlist of free and under-$20 AI visibility options for small business, from free audits to $19 and $20 monthly trackers, after new data shows ChatGPT reading small business sites less while sending them more visitors.

Cheap AI traffic tools just got cheaper. Change Agents says its Beacon platform goes live on October 28 with a free audit and a $20 monthly report, Bospar's Audit*E now has a $19 plan for small businesses, and geoSurge has made its tracking app free. Meanwhile an EMARKETER and Semify survey published October 26 found three-quarters of small business marketers now call AI search visibility a top priority, while most still can't prove their work is paying off. So here's our ranked shortlist of AI visibility options that cost $20 a month or less, sorted by what each one is actually best at.
One more piece of news shapes the ranking. LovedByAI, an AI search optimization platform for small businesses, published server logs from 724 small business sites on October 26 showing ChatGPT's live page reads fell 50% between late July and mid-October, while visitors arriving from ChatGPT rose 115% (LovedByAI's ChatGPT crawl and traffic data). Those are LovedByAI's numbers, and OpenAI hasn't explained the change. If they hold, what ChatGPT already knows about your business matters more than how often you check on it, which favours fixing over watching.

We rank ourselves first for one job: getting a small business described correctly by AI assistants for as little money as possible. It starts with a free AI discoverability audit sent as a PDF, then we do the free and cheap fixes first, like crawler access, clear service pages and consistent business details. We only suggest a lean discovery campaign when it's worth it for your budget, and we tell you when to stop spending. We never sell bot or bulk traffic, and our do-it-yourself plans hand you the checklist so you can do the work yourself. Pricing is on request because many small sites only need a handful of fixes.
If the audit says your pages don't clearly explain what you sell, who it's for and how you compare, our sister agency BuyAISearch is the stronger pick. It focuses on generative engine optimization: restructuring key pages and adding entity and schema work so AI answers tie mentions back to you. Its read on how Cloudflare's new dashboard separates AI crawls, mentions and citations is a useful way to see which of those three you're actually missing.
If most of your AI referrals come from ChatGPT, ChatGPTKing works on that one assistant: making the pages that should answer specific questions direct and quotable, plus the crawler and rendering basics ChatGPT search needs. It doesn't sell placements or promise top spots, and it isn't affiliated with OpenAI. Its piece on why ChatGPT keeps leaving out brands it rarely names on its own lines up with the LovedByAI logs above.
Bospar opened its Audit*E tool to small and midsize businesses on September 30. Bospar lists a free tier with one audit a month across OpenAI's GPT, Anthropic's Claude and Google's Gemini, and a $19 a month plan with two audits a month across 11 AI platforms. Each audit comes with a task list per platform, which is the part a small business can actually act on.
Change Agents says Beacon goes live October 28. The company describes a free visibility audit after registration and email verification, a competitive check across about 100 common customer queries, and a $20 a month full report covering ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok and Claude, with optional paid implementation. It isn't live yet as we write this, so check the terms on launch day.
geoSurge made its AI visibility tracking app free on October 20. It's a desktop app that drafts likely buyer questions for your domain and tracks the answers daily, and it runs on a ChatGPT or Claude subscription you already pay for, with early Gemini support, or an OpenRouter account at cost. Free to install, but the model usage comes out of your own plan.
AlchemyLeads, a Los Angeles SEO and GEO agency, launched a free AI Visibility Checker on October 14. It checks whether AI platforms can access your site, flags technical barriers and looks at whether your brand shows up in AI recommendations against competitors. Good for a quick look at crawl blockers before anything else.

Every tool on this list tells you where you stand, and several do it for under $20. CheapAITraffic is built for the step after that: the cheapest fixes first, plain advice about when to stop, and no junk clicks, fake reviews or invented results. When a small push is worth it, we run lean AI discovery campaigns we book through neetbros rather than buying traffic. Start with the free audit and you'll know which of these tools, if any, you actually need.

Black hat SEO tries to trick ranking systems with things like hidden text, link schemes, cloaking, fake reviews or bot traffic. It can work briefly, and it can get a site penalized or quietly ignored.
