Three free technical fixes that help AI assistants and agents read your small business website.

These three fixes cost nothing but a little time.

Visit yoursite.com/robots.txt. If you see Disallow rules for crawlers such as GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot or PerplexityBot, decide whether you really want them blocked. Some site builders and security plugins add these rules by default. Search-oriented crawlers like OAI-SearchBot are the ones that matter for being found in answers.
llms.txt is a proposed convention, not an official standard: a plain Markdown file at your site root that summarizes what you do and links to your key pages. Support varies, but it's cheap to add and doubles as a clear summary for any reader.
Add Organization or LocalBusiness JSON-LD with your name, URL, logo, contact details and address if relevant. Keep it identical to what's visible on the page. Google's Rich Results Test will tell you if it parses.

Once these are in place, ask a few assistants about your business and note what changes over the following weeks.

Black hat SEO tries to trick ranking systems with things like hidden text, link schemes, cloaking, fake reviews or bot traffic. It can work briefly, and it can get a site penalized or quietly ignored.
We're not black hat: no spam, no hacks, nothing that risks penalties. LLM search is still growing, and we keep up with the latest legit techniques. Stay tuned to our blog for free tips. Read the blog →
